Gift card promotion - terms and conditions

  • These terms apply to individuals or businesses who are accessing or using this promotion as a customer ("you" or "customer"). By accessing or using this promotion, you agree to use the promotion in the manner specified in, and are bound by, these terms and conditions.
  • The Markel Direct gift card promotion is open only to new customers of Markel Direct.
  • The customer will receive a £20 Amazon e-voucher (the “reward”) for successfully purchasing a qualifying policy. A purchase is successful where the customer’s policy is still live 60 days after the inception date with either the full premium or all instalments then due paid, as specified in the policy.
  • The customer acknowledges that we will share limited personal data, including their name and email address with Amazon.co.uk for the purposes of sending the e-voucher only.
  • The gift card promotion is available through Markel Direct only. Purchases of Markel products made through insurance brokers and other intermediaries are not eligible for the reward.
  • Each customer is eligible for only one reward under the Markel Direct gift card promotion. In the event of the customer’s policy being cancelled for any reason within 60 days from the inception date, no reward shall be paid.
  • Customers must purchase a policy with an annual premium of more than £20 in order to be eligible for the reward.
  • Customers must not have held a policy with Markel Direct in the 12 months preceding their purchase in order to be eligible for the reward.
  • This promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion.
  • The Amazon e-voucher will be dispatched to the customer within 90 days after the successful purchase of a qualifying policy.
  • No cash alternative is available.
  • The terms of redemption and expiry of the Amazon e-voucher shall be as determined by Amazon. We do not take any responsibility for the use or redemption of the reward.
  • The customer must use the unique link provided to them by Markel Direct in order to purchase their policy, or quote ’£20 gift card’ if purchasing over the telephone. Customers that do not use this mechanism will not qualify for the reward.
  • The gift card promotion applies to the Business Insurance and Charity, Community & Clubs Insurance products available from Markel Direct.
  • We reserve the right to cancel the customer’s policy at any time in accordance with the terms and conditions of that policy.
  • We reserve the right to withdraw this promotion at any time without notice.
  • We reserve the right to refuse the issue of any reward or promotion to any customer at our absolute discretion.
  • We reserve the right to change or amend the reward or structure of this promotion at any time without notice.
  • We reserve the right to provide substitute rewards of a similar value should the specified reward be unavailable.
  • We make no representation or warranty in relation to the reward provided and to the fullest extent permitted by the law shall have no liability to the customer in relation to any reward, its fitness for purpose, merchantability or otherwise.
  • Bulk email distribution, distribution to strangers, or any other promotion of Markel Direct in a manner that would constitute or appear to constitute unsolicited commercial email or "spam" is expressly prohibited.
  • Markel Direct is under no obligation to monitor each customer’s participation in the promotion. You may not participate in the promotion where doing so would be prohibited by any applicable law or regulations.
  • This promotion and these terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England, and each party irrevocably agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in relation to all claims arising out of or in connection with this promotion and these terms.
