Energy assessor and consultant insurance refers to a selection of specialist insurance policies designed to protect professionals who provide advice and assessments related to energy efficiency and energy performance. This insurance can include policies such as professional indemnity to protect against claims of negligence or errors in your professional advice, and public liability to cover injuries or property damage that could happen to members of the public during site visits.
Securing this insurance can help energy assessors and consultants to operate with confidence, with the reassurance that they are covered for legal costs, compensation claims, and unexpected events that may arise in the course of their work.

If you are an energy assessor or consultant, obtaining energy assessor and consultant insurance can be important if you provide recommendations that influence energy usage or energy efficiency standards. Many clients, including property owners, businesses, and government bodies, may also require proof of insurance before hiring you, and if you enter client premises or handle sensitive data, providing yourself with insurance can help to protect you and build trust with clients.
